Barcelona complete £8.6m Gabriel Jesus signing

Brazil international Gabriel Jesus has completed his move from Arsenal to Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona in a deal worth £8.6 million (€10 million).

The 29-year-old has signed a contract with Barcelona until June 2029 after four years at Arsenal.

Jesus joined the Gunners from Manchester City for £45 million in July 2022 and made 123 appearances across all competitions, scoring 32 goals.

He made 27 appearances during Arsenal’s Premier League-winning campaign but started just three league matches last season after struggling with injuries.

Jesus missed most of the 2024/25 season after suffering an ACL injury in January 2025.

The forward has won 64 caps for Brazil but has not featured for the national team since November 2023.

Aston Villa seal £47m deal for PSG winger Mbaye

Aston Villa have completed the signing of 18-year-old Senegal winger Ibrahim Mbaye from Paris Saint-Germain for €55 million (£47 million).

Mbaye scored three goals and provided two assists in 31 appearances last season as PSG retained their Ligue 1 and Champions League titles.

The teenager also featured in all four of Senegal’s matches at the 2026 World Cup, scoring in a 3-1 defeat to France, becoming the youngest African player to score at a men’s World Cup.

Mbaye joined PSG from FC Versailles in 2018 and progressed through the club’s academy before making his senior debut in August 2024 at the age of 16.

Born in France, Mbaye represented Les Bleus at the youth level before switching allegiance to Senegal in 2025 through his father.

He becomes the latest attacking addition to Unai Emery’s squad following the arrivals of Alejandro Garnacho, Johan Manzambi and Nicolas Jackson.

    Sunderland agree £30m Fofana deal

Sunderland have agreed a deal worth almost £30 million for Lyon winger Malick Fofana.

The 21-year-old Belgium international is travelling to England for a medical and is expected to sign a five-year contract.

Sunderland will pay an initial £25.6 million, with a further £4.3 million potentially due in add-ons.

Fofana is reportedly excited by the prospect of joining Sunderland ahead of their first European campaign in 51 years after qualifying for the Europa League.

The move comes after Arsenal failed to agree a fee with Lyon for the winger.

Fofana began his professional career at Belgian club Gent before joining Lyon in 2024.

Everton bring Grealish back on loan

Everton have agreed a deal to re-sign Jack Grealish from Manchester City on a season-long loan.

The 30-year-old is set to undergo a medical before completing his return ahead of Tuesday’s 23:00 BST transfer deadline.

Grealish spent much of last season on loan at Everton, scoring twice and providing six assists in 20 appearances before a foot injury ended his campaign in January.

Everton have also agreed a £3 million deal to sign Ainsley Maitland-Niles from Lyon.

The 29-year-old former Arsenal player has won five England caps and can operate at full-back or in midfield.

Chelsea close in on £52m Manu Kone deal

Chelsea are closing in on an agreement with Roma for France midfielder Manu Kone, although Roma manager Gian Piero Gasperini is attempting to keep the player, according to Sky in Italy.

A deal worth around £52 million has been discussed, while negotiations are also advancing over a possible loan move for Chelsea winger Jamie Gittens in the opposite direction.

Kone is being considered as a replacement for Enzo Fernandez, who is the subject of intense transfer interest from Manchester City.

    Liverpool complete record Barcola signing

Liverpool have completed the signing of French winger Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain in a deal worth up to £123 million.

Barcola has signed a five-year contract at Anfield, with Liverpool paying a guaranteed £106 million and a further £17 million available in add-ons.

The 23-year-old said joining Liverpool represented a major career milestone and identified winning the Premier League as one of his biggest ambitions.

“It’s a great pride to be able to play for Liverpool. I’m very happy,” Barcola told Liverpool’s official website.

“I hope to achieve very big things. First of all, winning the Premier League – it’s one of my biggest dreams.”

Manchester City push for £145m Enzo Fernandez deal

Manchester City are continuing negotiations with Chelsea over a potential blockbuster move for Argentina midfielder Enzo Fernandez.

Reports indicate City have had a bid worth around €140 million rejected, with Chelsea holding out for a higher fee.

Fernandez has reportedly given the green light to reunite with former Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca at the Etihad Stadium.

A deal could eventually reach around €145 million, which would make Fernandez the joint-record Premier League transfer alongside Alexander Isak’s move from Newcastle to Liverpool for the same figure last summer.

The 25-year-old’s current market value is estimated at €100 million, but Chelsea’s valuation has risen sharply amid interest from the Premier League champions.
