Germany arrived in Chicago on Tuesday evening ahead of Saturday’s final warm-up friendly against the USMNT. As reported by Kicker, the German national team arrived at their Waldorf Astoria hotel at 17:50pm, and were greeted by a handful of fans. Upon stepping off the coach, Nico Schlotterbeck and Alexander Nübel took time to sign autographs.
Between landing in Chicago and checking into their hotel, it took a reported two-and-a-half hours, which Kicker notes that despite the simplified entry procedures, the logistical side of the tournament will prove a mammoth task.
As their 2026 FIFA World Cup preparations get under way, Julian Nagelsmann has secret training sessions planned for Wednesday and Thursday, which will include Arsenal’s Kai Havertz, days after their UEFA Champions League final defeat.
Another training session will then take place on Friday before playing Christian Pulisic and Co. in their friendly against Mauricio Pochettino’s USMNT at Soldier Field on Saturday.
