Jessica Dzamesi scores and converts in shootout as Greater Accra battle Upper West at Elite U15 Girls Championship • Sahara Football

The 2026 Elite U15 Girls Championship continued at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram on Saturday, with some of Ghana’s most promising young female footballers taking centre stage under the Ghana Football Association’s FIFA Talent Development Scheme (TDS).
Among the players making an impact was Cabfix Ladies FC forward Jessica Yaa Dzamesi, who registered her first goal of the competition while representing the Greater Accra Region.

Greater Accra were involved in one of the most entertaining fixtures of Matchday Two, playing out a thrilling 3-3 draw against Upper West Region in a match filled with goals and drama. With the competition’s format designed to produce a winner in every game, the two sides proceeded to a penalty shootout to determine who would claim the additional point on offer.

Although Greater Accra eventually fell 4-2 in the shootout, Dzamesi was one of only two Greater Accra players to successfully convert her penalty, showing composure under pressure after already getting on the scoresheet during regulation time.

The goal marked an important milestone for the young forward and highlighted her growing influence within a Greater Accra side made up of some of the region’s brightest young talents.

The Elite U15 Girls Championship serves as a talent identification and development platform, bringing together selected players from across the country to compete while showcasing their abilities before coaches, scouts, and technical experts.

For Cabfix Ladies FC, Dzamesi’s performance represents another positive chapter in the club’s commitment to youth development. In recent years, the club has produced players who have gone on to represent Ghana at various levels, including goalkeeper Belinda Maku Aklie with the Black Maidens and Black Princesses, as well as Jessica Benni, who was part of Ghana’s victorious Black Damsels squad that successfully defended the CAF African Schools Football Championship title in Zimbabwe.

Dzamesi now joins a growing list of young talents from the club gaining exposure on the national stage, with the Elite U15 Girls Championship providing another opportunity for players to take important steps in their football development.

Elsewhere on Matchday Two, Central Region recorded a 2-1 victory over Upper East Region, Volta Region defeated Elite Academy Bolgatanga SHS, Northern Region overcame Western Region, while Ashanti Region secured a narrow 1-0 win over Eastern Region.

With the championship running from June 5 to June 8, attention now shifts to the remaining fixtures as teams continue their quest to develop talent and make an impression at one of Ghana’s premier youth football competitions.
