Chelsea have reportedly opened discussions with Real Madrid over the potential signing of left-back Álvaro Carreras, submitting an initial offer worth €25 million for the Spanish defender.
The Blues are believed to be keen on strengthening their options at left-back ahead of the new season, with Carreras emerging as one of the club’s priority targets. The 23-year-old has attracted attention with his performances and is viewed as a player capable of fitting Chelsea’s long-term project.
However, negotiations are still in the early stages, and it remains unclear whether Real Madrid will accept the opening proposal. The Spanish giants are expected to assess the offer before deciding whether to negotiate or retain the defender.
Chelsea have been looking at a few players that they could bring into the club as they continue to reshape Xabi Alonso’s squad, and Carreras could become the latest addition if talks progress positively.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, are in no rush to make a decision. They will carefully evaluate Chelsea’s proposal and determine whether selling Carreras aligns with their sporting plans. If negotiations continue, the coming days could prove decisive in determining whether the deal gathers momentum or stalls
For now, there no agreement has been reached, but discussions between the two clubs are ongoing, with further developments expected in the coming days.
