JVW Cruise and UWC Climb as the Hollywoodbets Super League Festival Rolls On

The second Hollywoodbets Super League Amplified festival delivered a day of contrasting fortunes on Saturday, as JVW FC underlined their Super Rise credentials, UWC climbed the Super Era standings and First Touch extended their unbeaten start, in the latest round of festival action at Tuks Stadium in Pretoria on Saturday, 20 June 2026.

In the morning’s Super Era fixture, UWC edged Stellenbosch 1-0 thanks to a 62nd-minute strike from Antonia Maponya, a result that lifted the students to second in the stream on four points. It came in a niggly contest in which Stellenbosch collected a cluster of yellow cards, and a second successive defeat left them seventh, still searching for their first goal and first point of the campaign.

The Super Rise stream produced the day’s most emphatic result, as log leaders JVW FC swept City Lads aside 4-0. Gabriela Salgado-Moodaly struck twice, in the 21st and 61st minutes, with Cimone Sauls and Nompumelelo Nyandeni also on target in the first half, as JVW made it two wins from two and moved to six points.

Salgado-Moodaly’s brace took her to three goals for the season, level at the top of the scoring charts, while City Lads remain rooted to the foot of the stream, still waiting for their first goal of the campaign.

TUT FC’s Ester Ndou won the Player of the Match accolades alongside Dr Desiree Ellis during their 1-all draw with First Touch Ladies.

In an absorbing Super Rise contest, First Touch and TUT shared the points in a 1-1 draw. Gugu Mabitsela put TUT ahead in the 66th minute, but First Touch responded through a penalty from Mmasello Ledwaba, struck deep into time added on at 90 plus one, to preserve their unbeaten record. TUT sit second on four points, with First Touch fourth after a second successive draw.

With the festival entering its final day, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies remain clear at the top of the Super Era on a maximum six points, with UWC second and Copperbelt Ladies third, while JVW FC lead the Super Rise from TUT. Both streams remain tightly bunched behind their pacesetters, setting up an intriguing Sunday.

The Hollywoodbets Super League returns for its second festival at Tuks Stadium in Pretoria from Friday 19 to Sunday 21 June 2026, with eight matches across the Super Era and Super Rise streams and three clubs level on points at the top of each stream as the early title race takes shape. Sunday’s closing programme is a notable one, bringing into action the six clubs that sat out the opening two days of the festival. In the Super Era, the spotlight falls at 15h00 on sixth-placed TS Galaxy Queens against third-placed Copperbelt Ladies, with both sides playing their first match of the second festival.

Copperbelt arrive with a perfect record, having won their only outing 3-1, and victory would carry them above UWC into second, while TS Galaxy, unbeaten after a 2-2 opening draw, will look to turn promise into a first win of the season.

The Super Rise day opens at 09h00 with a basement battle, as sixth-placed Ezemvelo and seventh-placed Ramatlaohle both chase a maiden point after losing their openers.

At 12h00, third-placed University of Johannesburg, unbeaten and yet to concede, travel to face fifth-placed University of Fort Hare in an all-university clash, with a win enough to lift Johannesburg level on points with the leaders, and Fort Hare hunting a first victory after their opening draw.
