Dreams FC and Nations FC set for high-stakes MTN FA Cup final showdown • Sahara Football

Dreams FC and Nations FC will battle for the ultimate prize in the 2025/26 MTN FA Cup when the two sides face off in the grand final at the University of Ghana Stadium on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at 6:00pm.

Beyond the trophy and prestige, the final carries enormous significance as the winner will secure Ghana’s slot in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup.

Dreams FC head into the final with momentum and confidence after finishing the Ghana Premier League campaign inside the top four. The Believers have once again demonstrated their strength in knockout football and will be aiming to add another FA Cup title to their growing history after previously lifting the trophy in 2023.

Their route to the final has been filled with dramatic moments and impressive performances. Dreams began their campaign with victories over lower-tier sides Semper Fi, Asanska FC, and Inter Allies before edging Heart of Lions on penalties following a thrilling 1-1 draw in the quarter-finals.

In the semi-final at the Swedru Sports Stadium, Dreams FC produced another strong display to defeat Medeama SC 3-2 in an entertaining five-goal contest. Kelvin Ahiable and Suraj Seidu fired Dreams into an early two-goal lead before Medeama mounted a comeback to level the score. However, Dreams showed resilience and composure to restore their advantage and book a place in the final.

For Nations FC, this year’s FA Cup journey has been historic. The Kumasi-based club reached their maiden final after a disciplined 1-0 victory over Aduana FC in the semi-finals, with Emmanuel Annor scoring the decisive goal as early as the seventh minute.

Nations FC’s campaign has been built on resilience and defensive solidity. They recorded victories over Ebony FC, Ashantigold, and Swedru All Blacks before eliminating Berekum Chelsea on penalties to reach the last four.

Despite their impressive cup run, Nations FC enter the final under contrasting circumstances after suffering relegation from the Ghana Premier League following the conclusion of the league season. Winning the FA Cup would therefore represent a remarkable turnaround and offer the club an opportunity to end the campaign with silverware and continental qualification.

Meetings between the two sides in the Ghana Premier League this season suggest another closely contested encounter awaits. Dreams FC secured a 2-0 victory at home earlier in the campaign, while the reverse fixture at the home of Nations FC ended in a 1-1 draw.

However, with the final taking place on neutral ground at the University of Ghana Stadium, both sides will believe they have an equal chance of lifting the trophy.

Both clubs also head into the final in winning form after ending their Ghana Premier League campaigns with victories on the final day of the season.

With Dreams FC seeking to reaffirm their reputation as one of Ghana’s strongest cup sides and Nations FC chasing a historic first FA Cup title despite their league disappointment, Sunday’s final promises intensity, drama, and high-quality football under the lights in Accra.
