
Western Province scored seven tries to down the Blue Bulls in the final match of the FNB U16 Girls Week, staged at Kearsney College in Botha’s Hill near Durban on Saturday, 4 July 2026.
Province produced the best performance of their FNB U16 Girls Week campaign when they beat the Bulls 43-5 in the final round of the tournament in KwaZulu-Natal on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Boland, the Pumas, Griquas, South Western Districts, KwaZulu-Natal, Griffons and Eastern Province all claimed wins on Saturday to finish the tournament on a positive note.
WP started the final match against the Bulls with a bang, scoring two tries within the first six minutes. The Cape side’s high-tempo approach yielded two further tries and they went to the break with a commanding 26-5 lead.

WP defended well to keep the Bulls scoreless after half-time, and they had the final say when they scored at the death. WP flanker Nangamso Mshweshwe carried strongly throughout the contest, and finished with a brace.
Earlier in the day, the Pumas scored five tries in their 29-0 win over the Limpopo Blue Bulls, with lock Gloria Nobunga dotting down twice. The Griffons were just as dominant in their 29-5 victory over the Leopards.

Later, lock Thandoyise Snyman scored twice in Griquas’ 37-5 victory against Free State, and Boland fired late to beat Border 17-5.
The final round of the tournament served up several close finishes, with SWD edging the Valke 12-10, the hosts beating the Golden Lions 10-0, and EP downing Border Country Districts 15-5.

The FNB Youth Weeks action continues on Mnday 6 June, with the FNB U18 Girls Week tournament staged at Grey High School in Gqeberha between 6 and 11 July 2026.
