Following recent moves from Wizkid, here is when we believe arguably one of Africa’s biggest acts could go on a new world tour.
Nigerian music superstar Wizkid has been noticeably absent from the global touring circuit following the cancellation of several dates on his highly anticipated Morayo World Tour in 2025. However, recent developments suggest that the Grammy-winning singer may be preparing to return to the road, potentially setting the stage for a major world tour in 2027.
For an artist who has built a reputation for delivering unforgettable performances at some of the world’s biggest venues, Wizkid’s relatively quiet touring schedule has left fans wondering when they will get another opportunity to experience a full-scale Starboy concert.
Although the singer has continued to make appearances at major festivals and selected events, these performances have largely been independent of a coordinated international tour.
But with his recent return to major stages and a significant change to his international touring representation, there are growing reasons to believe that Wizkid’s next world tour could be closer than expected.
What Happened to Wizkid’s Morayo World Tour?
In November 2024, Wizkid released his sixth studio album, Morayo, a deeply personal project dedicated to his late mother, Jane Dolapo Balogun, who passed away in August 2023.
The album was expected to usher in another major touring era for the singer, with concerts scheduled across several international markets.
However, in May 2025, multiple dates on the North American leg of the Morayo World Tour were cancelled, including scheduled performances in Atlanta, New York, Toronto, Baltimore and Houston.
The cancellations disrupted what was expected to be another significant chapter in Wizkid’s live performance career. Although fans speculated about the reasons behind the decision, no comprehensive official explanation was provided.
Since then, Wizkid has not embarked on another extensive international tour, despite maintaining his presence in the music industry through new releases, collaborations and occasional live performances.
Wizkid’s Recent Performances Could Signal Something Bigger
While Wizkid has remained relatively quiet on the touring front, his recent performance schedule suggests that he is gradually becoming more active on the international stage.
In 2026, the Afrobeats superstar appeared at several major events across the United States, including Tribeville Festival in Minneapolis, Ditch Party in Los Angeles and Afro Plus Fest in Maryland.
His performance at Afro Plus Fest on September 6 was particularly significant.
The singer headlined the closing night of the three-day festival, delivering a performance that featured some of his biggest records, including Essence, Ojuelegba, Caro and Bad to Me.
The appearance also coincided with celebrations marking 15 years since his emergence as one of Nigeria’s leading music stars.
These appearances are important because they demonstrate that Wizkid remains actively involved in the live entertainment circuit, even without an officially announced world tour.
More importantly, they could represent an opportunity for the singer and his team to assess audience demand, reconnect with international fans and prepare for a more extensive touring schedule.
While festival appearances do not necessarily indicate that a world tour is imminent, the frequency and scale of his recent performances make the possibility worth considering.
Wizkid’s New Deal With CAA Could Be His Biggest Hint Yet
Perhaps the strongest indication that Wizkid could be preparing for another major touring era is his recent agreement with Creative Artists Agency (CAA).
In October 2026, reports confirmed that Wizkid had signed with the influential entertainment agency for live music and touring representation across North America.
Under the arrangement, CAA will oversee the singer’s live bookings and touring activities in the United States and Canada.
Meanwhile, United Talent Agency (UTA), which previously handled his international touring representation, will continue representing him across other territories outside North America.
The development is particularly interesting considering Wizkid’s established commercial success in the international concert market.
Over the years, the singer has performed at prestigious venues, including London’s O2 Arena, New York’s Madison Square Garden and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where he became the first African artist to headline the venue.
His decision to strengthen his touring representation in North America could therefore be interpreted as an attempt to position himself for bigger opportunities in one of the world’s most commercially important live entertainment markets.
CAA’s extensive network of promoters, venues and entertainment professionals could also provide Wizkid with additional opportunities to secure major festival appearances and organize large-scale concerts.
Of course, signing with a new booking agency does not automatically mean that a world tour is around the corner.
When Is Wizkid Going on Tour?
Although Wizkid has yet to announce an official date for his next world tour, we believe there is a strong possibility that the singer could unveil his touring plans before the end of 2026, with the tour itself kicking off in 2027.
Our prediction is based on two major developments: his increased presence at international live events and his decision to strengthen his North American touring representation through CAA.
Organizing a world tour requires extensive preparation, from securing venues and coordinating international promoters to developing production concepts and establishing a workable schedule across multiple countries.
With CAA now handling North America and UTA maintaining responsibility for other international markets, Wizkid has a touring structure capable of supporting a major global concert campaign.
An announcement before December 2026, or during the final weeks of the year, would also provide sufficient time to begin promoting concerts scheduled for 2027.
There is also the possibility that Wizkid could use the final months of 2026 to make additional appearances before transitioning into a more organised touring schedule.
For Wizkid, whose previous performances have demonstrated his ability to command major arenas and stadiums, the next tour could be an opportunity to build on those achievements.
